The Original Firestik KW Series CB antennas are a proven high performance antenna. KW's are constructed from a rugged solid fiberglass core and designed to be completely compatible with any Citizen's Band Radio.
FireStik KW CB antenna are amazing performing as a single or co-phased antenna providing clear long range communication capability for a wide variety of mobile two-way radio installations. Cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles, and ATV's have all achieved success with KW antennas. An adequate ground plane is required when installing KW antennas; this is usually easy to accomplish with most installations.
When size matters, the KW is available in whip sized up to seven feet tall! FireStik's KW antennas are among the longest available in 5/8-wave design.
Today's CB radios are often capable of receiving NOAA Weather channel alerts and the KW will pull in these signals in addition to 27 MHz CB radio traffic.
The KW is a wire wound antenna custom blended with a glass fiber reinforced shaft. Standard 3/8x24 threaded ferrule ensures compatibility to the widest selection of antenna mounting solutions. Vibration resistant tapered lug nut style ferrule and static reducing water tight casing ensure that the KW antennas are built to last!
FireStik original KW CB antennas are designed to be fine-tuned for lowest Standing wave ratio by trimming the loading coil. For complete information on properly tuning the KW or any CB radio antenna be sure to review . If you would prefer to have an easy tune tip, check out the Firestik II series! and
When you're ready to install a new CB antenna be sure to consider the original wire-wound high performance KW antenna from the FireStik Antenna Company, providing reliable on the road communications since 1975!

An is high recommend to protect your KW antenna for damage that can occur when entering garages or areas of low clearance. Be sure to review if you are unsure about selecting the correct spring for your antenna installation.
Coax
FireStik highly recommends for use with the KW series antennas. RG58A/U is appropriate for single antenna installs and RG59 is desired for co-phased antennas.
Tune your Antenna
Tuning the KW CB antenna is required for properly setting the SWR of your CB radio. Don't neglect this important task. Be sure to use a for best results. We offer an online You Tube video with basic instruction on How to Tune a CB Antenna like the KWX.
Essentially, if your SWR readings show that you need to shorten the antenna, you remove the antenna cap, and cut back the plastic coating on the tip of the antenna to slightly expose the copper wound wire. You will trim the wire, maybe 1/8" at a time, put the cap back on, and recalibrate/recheck your SWR readings until you achievethe desired result. If your SWR readings show that you need to lengthen the antenna, you could add a spring or possibly switch to a longer section of coax cable. In any case, be sure to properly store any excess coax in a figure 8. This is very important.
Firestik does offer their easy tune tuning tip antennas, the Firestik II antennas (check out the FSX), but they only go up to 5 feet in length.
